Touro Talks and the Jewish Law Institute are pleased to present a conversation about the role of the United Nations in past and current conflicts between Israel and its neighbors. The program will feature leading figures from Touro University.
Speakers
Anne Bayefsky
Director, Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, Touro University
Professor Anne Bayefsky is the Director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, which is an official UN-accredited NGO. An attorney, Professor Bayefsky joined Touro in 2005. For the past four decades, she has served on delegations to the UN, both governmental and non-governmental, including world conferences on human rights, women’s rights and racism in Vienna, Beijing and Durban. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Toronto and Oxford University.
David Luchins
Professor and Chair, Political Science Department, Touro University
Dr. David Luchins serves as Founding Dean of Touro University’s Lander College for Women and Chair of the Political Science Department at Touro University. He served on the staff of United States Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan for twenty years as special assistant, senior assistant, and ultimately senior advisor, and he has held leadership positions in numerous Jewish communal organizations. He holds a B.A. from Yeshiva University, and a Ph.D. from the CUNY Graduate Center.
Dr. Alan Kadish
President, Touro University
Dr. Alan Kadish is the president of Touro University. He is also a noted educator, researcher, and administrator who is training the next generation of communal, business, and healthcare leaders.

Professor of Law, Director of the Jewish Law Institute
Professor Samuel J. Levine is the Director of the Jewish Law Institute at Touro Law Center.
